The new Skype app has been heralded as a masterpiece of technical engineering, the forefront of communications technology and the saviour of little people who just want to call their buddies for free.

 But in the midst of this celebration comes the Sky+ app, which I just downloaded. Yes, our expectations are such that it almost came as no surprise when Sky+ launched the text (SMS for the Americans out there) service, but with the maturity of the iPhone 3G I can now sit on the bus home from work - as I am doing now, actually - and scroll through the channels looking at the live schedule. And yep, you guessed it, one touch record.
